Our members come from all over the world and have a big range of professions. Most members are between 25-35 yrs old, but we believe that age is just a number. We love diversity and promote environments where you will get to meet people from different backgrounds and broaden your horizon.
All our apartments are unique, the sqm size is mentioned for each apartment on our website.
In our coliving apartments, bathrooms are generally shared with 1 or 2 other people, but this can vary from apartment to apartment. The amount of bathrooms in each apartment is mentioned on our website and can be found on the floor plan.
Yes we do! These are listed on our website as 'ensuite'.
All our apartments are fully furnished, equipped and decorated to be completely ready for you to move in and immediately feel at home.
In our living rooms, you can expect a cosy lounge area with a TV to hang out together and watch films. The dining areas are set up to enjoy dinners and the kitchens are fully equipped with any type of equipment you need. We also try to provide as many standard accessories as possible, so you don't have to worry or bring anything when you move in. From kitchen appliances to utensils, cutlery, vases, mixers, toast machines, plates, pans, cups, hairdryers, steam irons, and more.
The private rooms come fully furnished and decorated as well. There will always be a comfortable bed including a duvet and pillows and plenty of storage space for your personal belongings. Almost all of our rooms have a desk with a desk chair (if the room did not fit a desk, this will be mentioned on our website). Furthermore, we make sure that the room is ready to move in by decorating it with lighting, rugs and art.
We would love to show you our homes, but we also want to provide privacy to our current members. That's why don't offer viewings. Instead, we provide detailed pictures of our apartments and rooms, as well as 3D floor plans on our website, so you can get a good idea of what the apartment is like. If you have any specific questions or if anything is not clear, we would be happy to answer your question via email or on a call.
We can guarantee a super high-quality standard across all our apartments. Our apartments are carefully selected and furnished with high-quality design furniture in the same beautiful Nordic style. Get an idea of what our current members think about LifeX on Trustpilot here.
LifeX apartments typically do not have locks on individual units. This is primarily for safety reasons — in case of an emergency, such as a fire or medical situation, emergency services may need immediate access.
Additionally, since LifeX provides services like furniture repairs and maintenance, our operations team or trusted technicians may occasionally need to access private areas. In such cases, we always notify members in advance and knock before entering.

The main purpose of the LifeX community is to make it possible for people—regardless of background—to feel comfortable and at home with their housemates, and have the opportunity to build long-lasting, authentic relationships.
To allow members the opportunity to get to know their housemates and expand their networks, LifeX sponsors activities. One way this is done is by way of the LifeX-sponsored welcome dinner: each time a new member moves in, LifeX sponsors a dinner for all housemates to get to know one another. We then hope to see our members come together and join the various other events hosted throughout the year by either LifeX or other members!
As a LifeX member, you will also get exclusive access to our online community via the member app. In the app, you have the possibility to join or start an interest group and get in contact with other members in your own city and across all other cities in which LifeX is present.
The LifeX member app offers various features that enable the community to engage with each other, as well as the LifeX team.
Among other things, the LifeX app offers you the ability to find/comment/like and create events hosted by LifeX and other members. It also offers the ability to talk to your housemates in your house group. Most importantly, the LifeX app facilitates communication between members and the LifeX team - be it updates from our operations team, or reaching out to us via the chat to suggest any feedback you may have for us.
Unfortunately, our apartments are currently not suitable for families with kids.
We LOVE pets, but unfortunately, we don't have any animal-friendly apartments available at the moment.
You are welcome to invite friends over for lunch, dinner, etc. as long as your housemates are okay with it. Just give others a heads-up and be mindful of the noise. You can always take the fun to a general area with closed doors or take it to the bar.
Our apartments are your home, so you can definitely have guests come over as long as everyone in the home is fine with it and you follow our guest policy.
Yes, you have the possibility to move to another apartment and you will always get the first pick on any available room or apartment. The flexibility of living is one of the things we strive for here at LifeX. Please be aware that some local regulations and policies might apply. Just ask our team about this if you want to know more.
Definitely! One cool feature within LifeX is the ability to swap rooms with members in other cities for a small holiday. For example, are you interested in visiting Copenhagen, meeting other members there, and still feel at home? Then you can submit a request in our app and connect with LifeX members in other cities.
Booking & moving in
Simply sign up on our website to start your LifeX application. One simple form is all it takes — even if you're interested in more than one home.
Once you've signed up, our team will follow up with the next steps by email. Keep an eye on your inbox (and spam/promotions folder) for emails from @joinlifex.com.
Before booking, you’ll need to submit the requested documents. For coliving apartments, a video call is also mandatory as part of the application process. For private homes, a video call is not usually required, but our team may request one if needed as part of the review process.
/ Are you still in the exploring phase and don't want to book right away? No worries! Our team can set you up in our system so that when you are ready to make your move. All you need to do is check our availability online and get in touch with us to book the room. Our team can also help you to decide which unit would fit you the best.
Please note: signing up does not reserve or hold a specific home for you. Homes are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend acting quickly if you find one you love <3
The videocall — along with your documents — helps us understand what you're looking for and make sure LifeX is the right fit for you. It's also a chance to clarify any questions, walk you through the process, and confirm the details in your application.

We screen for the right fit. You choose the right space.
We don't match individual members to specific housemates. Instead, every applicant goes through the same document and videocall process, which helps us confirm they're a good fit for coliving — considering things like lifestyle and how they'll contribute to a shared home. This means you can trust that everyone in your home has been vetted the same way.
In most cities, you can move in on any day of the week as we are using a key-sharing service, which will enable you to pick up your key with a personal code.
For the other cities, we have different solutions at our disposal. Just let our team know what day you would prefer to move in, and we will try to facilitate that.
The move-in time is after 3 PM in all of our cities. This allows us to make sure your room will be ready for you until your move-in. If your planned arrival time is before 3 PM, then you can easily reach out to our team in our app and check if you can move in earlier.
Contract & pricing
The monthly price depends on the city, the apartment, and the room. You can see all our available rooms including the prices on our website.
Prices listed cover your (1) lease agreement including your base rent, (2) utilities and (3) optional service agreement covering vacancy cover, furniture, cleaning, handyman tasks and repair, linen, wifi, customer support and VAT. No hidden fees! So you don't need to worry about anything else.
The frequency of our cleaning service depends on the city and the service level (Regular or Service Plus). You can find the service type and the frequency on the apartment page on our website under the tab 'What's included'.
Our deposits vary from city to city and are a fixed amount of around 1 - 2 months' rent. If the room is in the same state as when you moved in, the deposit will be fully after your contract has ended. The processing time for the deposit vary per country, so if you'd like to know specifically for Denmark, Germany, and Norway, please check out our help article here.
Yes, you can register and use LifeX as your permanent address (in Copenhagen this qualifies for your CPR registration and in Germany for your 'Anmeldung').
We want your move into a new home to be as smooth and stress-free as possible. To keep things simple and make sure everyone has the best experience, we just need three documents: your ID, proof of occupation (like a work contract or enrollment letter), and proof of funds.

The discount displayed on our website is available to anyone who is new to LifeX. This offer is exclusively for first-time members and is not applicable to returning members. At LifeX, we get a lot of questions how we set our monthly member's prices and how much of it we actually keep. As transparency is one of our main company values, we are happy to show where exactly the revenue from our rental apartments goes to.
Think of our revenue as a pie: 65% goes towards rent and utilities that LifeX pays to our landlords as we rent large aparments on open market just as anybody else, while 10% is dedicated to essential services like cleaning, maintenance, and customer support. We invest 2% in marketing to welcome new members and 7% covers administrative expenses. To ensure a comfortable living space, 4% goes into furniture setup and depreciation. We also allocate 2% for deposit financing to keep your upfront costs low, and 7% to cover vacancies so you won't have to worry about move-outs in your apartment. This leaves us with a modest 3% as our net profit, ensuring sustainability and quality living standards for all our members.
